I first tried antiobiotics and that worked fine for a month or two. I asked my dermatologist for Accutane and he had no objections, but did mention the side effects. I took it for six months and really only experienced dry lips and eyes, which I was able to keep under control w/ lip moisturizer and eye drops (a few times an hour).
This was a year ago. I had PERFECT skin while taking it but started breaking out after I stopped. It definitely wasn't as bad though, but there is one thing that bothers me:
My lips and eyes are still dry. I constantly have red eyes unless I apply eye drops, and my lips start cracking if I don't use moisturizer. I've heard of others having this same problem even after they stopped for months, even years.
I regret taking it, and I have realized that my acne bothering me was just a byproduct of my than-shitty self-esteem.
Thank you for your comment. This is another story combat acne. These articles are only a way to help in getting rid of acne. But, in fact, as you told skin is the external view of your body. Combat is not only external manifestations of skin, but also in internal causes.
